Encryption happens before anything leaves your browser.

That means the service stores sealed boxes while never holding the key that opens them.

What this changes for users

The trade-off is real: stronger privacy means you look after your own passphrase and recovery key, because we can't recover either for you.

The benefit is that a breach of sealed boxes is a very different event from a breach of records anyone could read.
