Built by the two people
who were quietly holding it all.
PicoPouch started as a spreadsheet, a drawer of papers, and a conversation neither of us wanted to have. This is the version we wished existed.
The problem, stated
at kitchen-table height.
In most households, one person holds it all. The mortgage rate and when it lapses. Which broker to call and what not to let them sell you. The GP, the school portal, the boiler contract, the password for the account the electricity comes out of. It lives in their head, their inbox, and a drawer — and it works, right up until the day it doesn't. The tools on offer solve thirds of this: a password manager holds the logins, a folder holds the papers, and the instructions live nowhere. Nobody was building for the handover.
Three beliefs
we won't be argued out of.
Plain language wins
A record your sister can’t understand is a record that doesn’t work. Shelves have household names. Fields say what they mean. The jargon stays in the technical folds, where it belongs.
We shouldn't be able to read your things
Not “we promise not to” — can’t. Everything is encrypted in your browser before it reaches us. What we store is a sealed box. This costs us conveniences. We think it’s the whole point.
Quiet software lasts
No streaks, no nudges, no engagement metrics. A pouch you touch four Sundays a year and trust completely is a success. We'd rather be the drawer than the feed.
How we work,
for the curious.
Small, careful, and in the open. Features ship behind flags and arrive when they’re proven, not when the quarter ends. The security model is published in full, the roadmap is public, and the service is hosted on UK-only cloud regions. When something isn’t ready, its status says so.
Say hello.
We answer ourselves.
Questions, doubts, and hard cases welcome — especially the hard cases.
